Easter

We had 3 different Easter celebrations. We celebrated our first Easter at my dad's house on Saturday.
We were a little late. How could I wake this beautiful sleeping babe?

As soon as she woke up, we left and it was really bright and so I put her sunglasses on and she didn't take them off for at least 30 minutes. It was definitely a record.

We spent a lot of time outside playing with the other kids and collecting flowers.

She thinks her cousins are hilarious!

They definitely like to wrestle.

We played quite a bit of football and 3 flies up. Rachel was quite a good obstacle. She was in the way most of the time and everyone had to run around her when she wasn't running in to people.

Allison is quite the cute model :)

Tyler was taking my dad's motorcycle home so he could go for a ride. I was laughing so much at his goggles and helmet. This picture doesn't do it justice.

Easter morning Rachel woke up to quite the Easter basket.

She loved the bubbles in her cute bunny PJ's.

It is so hard to get her to look at the camera these days, but when she does, she looks beautiful.

We headed to the Bellavance home at noon and Rachel was able to open her birthday present from my Aunt and Uncle.

She had a great time playing with all of the toys.

She got a little upset when I took something away. I love how she is watching herself in the mirror while throwing a fit.

How can anybody resist a face like this. I love it!

Again, we spent a lot of time outside.

She did so well swinging on the big kids swings.

She sure does love playhouses. I just wish we had the room for one.

EJ really loved the cupcakes. Rachel and EJ played really well together.

Easter evening we headed to the Hodgson house and Rachel opened another Easter basket there. She sure does love Pez.

She is just so happy most of the time.

She ate celery for the first time. She was hesitant at first, but as soon as her Nana told her that The Wonder Pets eat it, she not only ate the pieces that she was given but dug in to a large piece as well. We had great Easter celebrations with so much family.

Busy Friday

Last Friday I had a busy day. It started by getting to go to Rachel's swimming lessons. Usually her Nana takes her, but since I am on Spring Break, I was able to go.
I am going to go this week as well and hopefully should have quite a few videos to sort through and post. Here is a short one to show what she is up to these days.

After swimming lessons we headed over to decorate eggs with Marie and Emma. The girls did it together last year too.

Rachel had a good time coloring the eggs for a little while but got distracted with all of Emma's fun toys to play with.

While Tim's mom watched Rachel we headed down to ballpark downtown to watch the Padres.

Before the game, there was a food and wine festival.

We sat right behind the bullpen. One of Tim's bosses got a new job in Poway and they were throwing her a going away party. They were great seats for socializing, but not great for watching because we were a little far away.

I Love My Time Off

Last week Rachel and I headed over to play with Becky and Grant. They played so well together. We just hung around their house all day and they had a water fight.
I took Rachel's shirt off because she was drenched and then Grant wanted his shirt off too.
Rachel doesn't quite have the hang of the water bottle yet. She has a hard time pulling the trigger with her fingers and needs to use her thumbs...which means it has to face her. As you can see in this picture, Grant had it facing her too which is why she got so wet...they were both shooting Rachel.

The next day, we headed out to the Wild Animal Park with my mom, Becky, and Grant.

Rachel and Grant spent a lot of time playing in the car.

The posed very shortly on the rhino.

But they headed quickly back to the car. As you can see from this picture, Rachel had some serious driving to do.

We went and saw the butterflies.
They are such good friends. I just LOVE this picture!

We went on the carousel at the very end. Rachel loved it and cried when she had to get off.

Grant had a good time but wasn't quite sure about it.
I am so happy to have two weeks off to hang out with family and friends!!!

2 Year Check-Up

Rachel had her 2 year doctor's appointment this past week. She weighs 29 pounds and is in the 75th percentile and is 34 inches tall and is in the 50th percentile.
We had to wait a little while for the nurse to come and do the shots and so Rachel was being silly and sniffing her socks.

She thinks she is the funniest little thing.

Recently, Rachel has decided to talk out of the side of her mouth like Popeye. I don't know why she does it, but she looks so silly :)

And speaking of silly, when we got home from the doctors, she decided that she needed to wear her helmet around the house while she played. She calls it a hat and loves to wear it these days.

Second Trip to Ocotillo

Rachel and I went to Ocotillo last weekend and stayed the night with the Stephens family.
The last time we went it was really windy and we had to spend a lot of time in the trailer. This time it was really hot and we had to spend a lot of time in the trailer. The girls spent a lot of time coloring on Marie's magazines.

When it started to cool off, we went for a ride in Marie's "pink car" to go and get ice cream. The girls were so excited. Unfortunately, there were problems with it, so we got most of the way there when we broke down.
The girls and I waited in the shade while Marie went to go and get help.

After we got back to camp, we went in Doug's truck to go and get our ice cream. Rachel loved it and made the greatest slurping sounds while eating it.

Since there ride was cut short, they still got to go on a ride but had to share a seat.

I even got to go on a ride while Marie watched Rachel.

In the morning the girls went for a ride on Doug's quad. (Marie pushed them back and forth in the shade and they loved every minute of it.) We had a good time except for the fact that Rachel did not want to go to sleep. It was the first time she has really slept anywhere except our house and her Nana and Papa's house. Everybody by the campfire was really loud and she didn't want to miss out on anything. There were 4 of us who tried to get her to sleep and Marie was the one who was finally successful. I felt so lucky that I had help because it took almost 3 hours to get her to finally go to sleep.
