Rachel and Grant

Last weekend we went to Valley Center to visit the Fearing Family while they were camping.
I know what you are thinking and no...they are not squatting because they both have to go to the bathroom at the same time. They are just having a good time playing in the dirt.

A really good time playing in the dirt. Rachel didn't realize that you don't eat the dirt. It sure looks like chocolate, maybe that is why she ate so much of it.

Becky had a hair appointment this week and so I watched Grant while she got her hair done. Tim's mom brought Rachel home to me and Rachel came in not looking too happy because she was sick. As soon as she saw Grant, she became soooo happy! I think she even forgot that she was sick. She wanted to ride the train with Grant, but he had other plans.

He got on the horse instead so that he could ride his own.

They had such a good time playing with each other.

First Haircut!

Rachel got her first haircut today!
Well, actually, it was only a bang cut, but it was still a big deal! My friend Jamie, who does my hair, did Rachel's when she was done with mine today.

I just got so tired of her hair always in her face. I think it will still go in her face, but hopefully not as much.

This is her new "I am smiling for the camera" face. She never really paid any attention to me taking pictures before, but tonight when I was taking pictures of her new haircut, she kept smiling and squinting her eyes for the camera.

18 Months Doctors Appointment

Two days after our visit to Urgent Care, Rachel and I went in for her 18 month appointment.
This was a much easier and much quicker appointment than the one on Sunday. She only had to get one shot this time and we were in and out so much faster.
Her 18 month stats are:
32 1/2 inches-70th percentile
25 pounds-60th percentile

Other than her runny nose, she was healthy and assuming she doesn't get sick, no more appointments until 2 years!

Sam's Birthday

The day after we went to Sea World, we went to Tim's parents to celebrate Sam's birthday.
Unfortunately, Rachel and I spent most of the day at Urgent Care. On Saturday, she woke up congested, but nothing out of the ordinary. On Sunday, she woke up with a bark for a cough. As the day went on, it got worse, and she got a fever, so I took her to Urgent care while everybody else watched the Chargers game. It turns out, she had croup. She got 2 injections of steroids and her cough was better the next day. After two hours in a doctors office with an 18 month old, I think I was in way more pain than her.

Sew World with the In-Laws

A couple of weekends ago, Rachel and I went with Tim's parents to Sea World to go to the Halloween Spooktacular.
Her favorite thing was being underground looking at the Polar Bears, Walruses, and Belugas.
She had to climb up to every single window to see what was in there.
She was just so excited to see all of the animals.
We went and saw the Pets Rule show and she was getting tired by then, so we headed home after that. We had a good time and it was nice to hang out with Tim's parents.

18 Months

You can say "No Way!" right now. I can't believe it either. My baby girl is 1 and a half.
On Friday after school, Tim's mom and I took Rachel to Rancho Bernardo Winery for their final Art Walk of the season. I had never been there before. There are a bunch of shops there and a bunch of vendors set up outside for the Art Walk.

There was a clown there and she walked up and started talking to Rachel. She gave her a lollipop, which was Rachel's first ever lollipop. As you can see, she liked it.

There was this 10 year old girl setting up her "dance floor" because she was about to perform. Rachel decided she wanted to dance and play on the dance floor. She was so happy to be playing there with the girl and listening to the musician playing his guitar and singing. We watched the little girls performance and Rachel sat and watched the whole thing without moving a muscle. She seemed to really like it.

I think the next time I want to get smiling and laughing pictures of Rachel, I just need a musician and a dance floor. I took a bunch of really happy pictures of Rachel and they all turned out so cute.

I only got one video before my phone battery died. You can see how happy she is to be there though.

"Okay Momma, I am really tired! Can we please go now?"

Finding Things to Do

Tim wasn't feeling well most of this week and so Rachel and I needed to find something to do after school one day to get out of the house.
So we went to Petco. I needed to get cat food and so we walked around and looked at the animals for at least a half an hour. Her favorite animal was the mice. She was entranced by them running around in the wheel.

Then we went to the mall and played around in the indoor playground.

She was running the whole time she was in there. I had such a hard time getting a picture because they were all so blurry from her runny everywhere. She was so excited to be out of the house that she was screaming. I had to stand the whole time by the entrance because she kept trying to run out. She had a lot of fun though.

Chargers Girl

With football season here, Rachel is celebrating her team by wearing her Chargers gear.
Gooooo Chargers!
