8 Months Old!

My baby girl turned 8 months today! Wow! I know I say this every month, but time sure is flying! Here are a few updates of what she is doing:
She is still just as happy as ever. She thinks she is such hot stuff and loves attention from anybody. She will go to pretty much anybody and is just such a happy girl most of the time.

She tries to get from a laying to a sitting position by doing sit-ups. She is not successful getting from a laying to a sitting position, but sure has strong abs from trying. She prefers sitting to laying down, just doesn't know how to get there yet.

She wants to crawl really badly, but is also not crawling. If she gets both legs under, she falls on her face. She gets in this position and rocks back and forth. She scoots around on her butt and also crawls (scoots) backwards when she is on her belly, but no forward crawling yet. She can get to any toy she wants, just not by traditional methods.

She is a huge fan of puffs and yogurt melts. She still loves her fruits and still won't touch most veggies. She won't even look at vegetables after one bite most of the time.

Still no teeth!
Her gums feel a bit swollen, but at this point, I am not counting on them any time soon.

She was not a fan of the hood on, but it looked so cute.
She says momma and dadda a LOT these days, but isn't necessarily talking to us. She says it when she wants something or gets something or pretty much all of the time.

Christmas Cookies

We went up to my mom's house yesterday and made Christmas cookies. We made buckeyes and two different kinds of sugar cookies.

Lots of sprinkles!

Rachel was somewhat entertained for awhile in the playpen. She loves to put this turtle's head in her mouth.
I kept teasing my sister because she put so many sprinkles on her cookies. After they were baked, hers ended up almost looking like mine anyways because all of the excess sprinkles fell off and had the same amount as mine anyways!

Thanksgiving #2

We celebrated Thanksgiving Day at Tim's parents house. I dressed Rachel up in her fancy dress. I need to get at many uses out of it as possible. She looked so pretty.

Everybody at the dinner table eating some great turkey dinner. Rachel being a big girl sitting up at the table.

When she was done being a big girl at the table, she played on the floor and fed herself a bottle.

VEGAS

Tim and I went to Vegas at the beginning of this week. We went for his birthday and it was our first trip away from Rachel. His parents and his Nana were so wonderful and watched Rachel for us while we were gone. As we were getting in the car to leave, I got a call from my mom saying that one of my cousins kids came down with H1N1 Swine flu that morning. She had held Rachel the day before. It was hard enough leaving her to go on vacation, but that made it even harder knowing that she could get really sick while we were gone. We called the doctor and they said that if she did not get symptoms within 24 hours, she would be okay. So, we went anyways, and she was fine. She was such a good girl while we were away. By the second day, she became very clingy to Tim's mom, but she was well behaved.
Since Tim took a year off of drinking, this was his first shot in a year. We went to Bellagio and this is just before his shot of Patron.

We stayed at the Trump hotel. Our room was really nice and it is a no smoking hotel so it didn't smell like smoke which was really nice.

We went and saw "The Lion King" while we were there. It was good.

After "The Lion King", we went to Ruth's Chris and had really good steak at 11:30 at night. Tim was sooooo impressed with his steak. I thought it was good, but was not as impressed as Tim.
We both won with our gambling too, which I think is a first for us. Tim won $165 and I won $10. (Hey, a win is a win, even if it is only $10.)

Tim's 28th Birthday

Tim celebrated his 28th birthday on Sunday. We went to his parents house after Thanksgiving at my mom's house to celebrate his birthday with his family.
Tim with his brothers

Sam gave Tim some enlarged photos that he had taken of the Chargers.

Rachel with her Great Nana Larsen. She is visiting until January and got to meet Rachel for the first time last week.

Thanksgiving #1

We celebrated Thanksgiving with my side of the family last Sunday at my mom's house. Here are a few shots from the day.
My sister and Rachel

My aunt Cathy, Grandma, and my cousins 3 kids
This is mostly the "kids" table. Tim made sure to get a seat where he could watch the Chargers game while he ate.

The "adult" table (this is the first time Brianne sat at the adult table and didn't know what to do with herself.)

Rachel with her Great Grandma and Great Grandpa Hunter. I made Grandpa hold her since I do not have any pictures of Rachel with him. He was happy to oblige.

Growler

Tim took this video last week. She likes to growl at him...and herself. He turned the video screen towards her while it was recording and when she saw herself, she growled even more.

Carrots...ewwwww!

Rachel has been really happy to eat many foods these days. Some of her favorites are peaches, sweet potatoes, bananas, and applesauce. I have discovered two that she is not so fond of too. She refused to eat peas. After one bite, I could not get her to take another. Another food she is not a fan of is carrots as seen in the following video. Eventually, I got her to take a few more bites, but after every bite, she shakes her head and makes the scrunchy face.

Peek-a-boo

Rachel has really started to enjoy playing peek-a-boo. She thinks it is one of the funniest things. She is developing more of a personality every day. I love this little girl so much! I don't know if she enjoys the cats or peek-a-boo more. You can see the cat walk by in the back and then I lose Rachel as soon as she sees it.

My Little Monkey

Rachel had multiple different outfits to celebrate her first Halloween in.
"So cute it's scary"

Her ghost bib

"Ghouls just wanna have fun!"

The drool in this picture is hanging from her mouth to her belly button.

I love this picture!

She was a monkey for Halloween. We went to my friend, Lori's house in Poway. Their neighborhood was really fun. So many of the houses went all out for Halloween. We had a really good time.

Lori's kids were a spider, the cox communications guy, and Haley took Rachel and got her some candy...for Tim.

She spent a bit of the time sleeping in her stroller. She was such a good girl. You can't really tell from these pictures, but the belly was huge. It was so cute.

Ahhhh, my little monkey! So cute!!!

7 Months

Rachel turned 7 months on Friday. I just can't believe how fast time is going.

This picture was taken at 10:30 on Friday night. She was still wide awake. She went to my soccer game at 7 on Friday and when we got home at 8:30, she just wanted to play.
