He can do it!

Tim held Marie's baby, Emma, for the first time the other day.  This is the first time he has ever really held a small baby.  I knew he could do it.  He looks like a natural.  Soon enough, he will be holding Rachel.

Heather and Becky Pregnant Pictures

Becky and I have been best friends for 25 years.  It is only fitting that we got pregnant together.  We took these photos on March 8.  Tim's brother, Sam, did an amazing job taking our pictures.  This first picture is definitely my favorite.
Becky is having a boy.  They have not decided on a name yet.  They are calling him Spike for now.  I think that once he is here, I will probably still call him Spike.

10 Days to Go

I had a doctors appointment today.  Not much of a change since the last time.  I am still about 70% effaced.  I am almost 1 cm dilated.  I don't think Rachel is coming anytime soon.  I think that she is going to stay in there until the end.  My last day of work is going to be this Friday.  Initially, I was going to try to hang in there until April 3rd, but I am just too tired to keep working.  I would like to be as well rested as I can be before Rachel comes.  It will be nice to get some stuff done next week and maybe relax a bit.  We got a lot done in Rachel's room this weekend.  We got her room arrangement set up.  We got all of the blinds put up throughout the house.  We got the mirrored closet doors hung up.  We had a big work party on Sunday with my mom, my sister, her husband Chris, and Tim's mom.  They were all such a big help.  We couldn't have got most of it done without them.  Today we got ceiling fans put up in the two bedrooms.  Our house is quickly becoming so much nicer.  I will post pictures of Rachel's room once we get it cleaned out a bit more.  There is still a lot to clean and do, so I will post pictures when it looks put together.

The Bathroom is Done!

Yippee!  If you were one of the lucky people who saw our beautiful bathroom before, you will really appreciate what it looks like now.  It is such a drastic improvement.  I am so happy that it is done.

Birthday Dinner with Friends

I celebrated my 31st birthday tonight with my friends Marie and Kristyn and their daughters Emma and Jillian.  I can't believe I just wrote 31st birthday.  That is the first time I said (or wrote) it.   31 just crept up on me.  My 30th birthday was a big production and we had a big party.  Tim surprised me with a party bus and we went bar hopping.  This year we are so far from that.  Rachel is almost here. I am not drinking, obviously.  Tim is not drinking either.  Actually, my birthday has been the last thing on my mind...I hadn't really thought about it.  My birthday actually isn't for 3 more weeks, but we celebrated it early so that we would be able to have time to get together before Rachel makes her big debut.  I was really stressed out today and had a big meltdown, so it was good to be able to get together with them and not think about everything that is stressing me out.  Thanks Marie and Kristyn for the distraction tonight.  I needed it!

36 weeks and 6 days

I had a doctors appointment today.  I probably won't get any more pictures.  There is just not enough fluid in front of Rachel's face anymore to get a good 3D/4D picture.  Stats from this appointment:  I lost 1 pound.  I am 0 cm dilated.  I am 70% effaced.  Dr. Langford says everything looks good and seems to be progressing just as it should.  Other good news:  our bathroom remodel should be done on Saturday.  If that is the case, we can begin working on Rachel's room right after that.  Right now, it is filled with bathroom stuff and until it is cleared out, there is no room to move her stuff back in.

Is Rachel going to be a lefty?

Looking down at my belly after school today, my stomach was very lob-sided.  Whenever Rachel is not "centered", she is always on my left side.  Is she going to be a lefty like her mommy?  She seems to really like it over there.

...and we moved the mess

So we finally finished painting Rachel's bedroom.  In the meantime, we had to move everything from her room (except for the crib and dresser), including what was in the closet, to the downstairs living room.  After we finished the painting, we shampooed the carpet.  So, now we can actually start placing things back in her room and decorating it.  It seems like an overwhelming job when I look at the mess down here, but I can't wait to get started.

One Month to Go!

Here I am...exactly one month to go.  I still feel like there is still so much to do.  We got about half of Rachel's room painted on Saturday.  (When I say we, I mean my dad.)  My dad is going to come back this Sunday to finish what did not get done.  I think eventually we will need to repaint the rest of the house, but will not get that done anytime soon.  Once the bedroom is painted, we can move forward on everything else that needs to get done with the room.  I can't even really buy things right now, because until the room is done, we have nowhere to store things like the pack-n-plays, the stroller, etc.  Once it is done, we can put things in there to store it until Rachel arrives.  Wow, I still can't believe it...one month to go!

Christmas in March?

So, I celebrated my Christmas #4 today at my brothers house.  It was the first day that all of my siblings could get together for Christmas.  I think that this is the latest I have ever celebrated Christmas.

Jaylin and Allison opening their gifts.

Nathan loves to pose for pictures.

Kyle opening one of his gifts.

I think that this was Nathan's favorite gift.  I was the box that his scooter came in.  He turned into a robot.  After seeing Nathan playing with his scooter box, Allison was disappointed that Lacey threw her box away so that she couldn't do this as well.
