Rolling Over

Rachel has been rolling over pretty consistently this week. I finally got it on video last night. Many of the times that she rolled over was the second I would turn around or turn the video camera off. We started cleaning our living room of all of the clutter because we know that very soon she will be pretty mobile, whether it be rolling to get to one place or another or crawling soon. She turns 6 months this week!

Chargers Cheerleader

Rachel was our official cheerleader for today.
(Too bad it didn't help.)

Deeply enthralled in the football game.

Going to be a gymnast. Working on her backbends.

Sitting Up

Rachel is sitting up...well kind of.
She does it on her own for a short bit, but then usually tips over.
She is sitting on the couch so that if she tips over, it won't hurt. Last weekend she fell over on her face and was not too happy about it. I wasn't quick enough that time :(

Sweet Potatoes

Since Rachel hasn't been to into the rice cereal, I decided to give something else a try. Tonight I tried sweet potatoes. She liked it more than rice cereal, but I am not sure how much she really liked it. There were bites that she seemed to like and there were other times when she would make a gagging face. I am not sure if it is because she didn't like it or she wasn't sure how to swallow it.
"See mom, I swallowed it."

She seems pretty happy here.

Just chillin.
It seems as if she is saying, "Can we just be done for now?"

24 Weeks

Rachel turned 24 weeks on Monday. I can't believe how time is flying. She is almost 6 months!
Here is how she felt about me feeding her more rice cereal!
(No, I did not pose her like this.)
She has not been too happy with the rice cereal. Of the 5 or so times that I have given it to her, I think that she didn't cry maybe twice.

She has been laughing so much more these days. She also has a fake laugh that she does. I have been trying to get it on video, but have been unsuccessful so far.

First Football Sunday

We went to one of Tim's friends houses for Rachel's first day of football. She was decked out in her pink Chargers onesie and bib that Tim bought for her. They don't play until tomorrow, but she has plenty more Chargers gear to wear.
There is a bolt on the onesie by her leg, but you can't see it because she pulls her legs up all of the time.

She has a football on her butt!

I tried rice cereal again tonight when we got home.

First Food

We gave Rachel rice cereal 2 days ago for the first time.
She looks so eager to eat it!

She wasn't quite sure how to swallow it. Most of it just bubbled back out of her mouth.

The aftermath!

Eventually, we put the rest in a bottle and had her finish it that way. She was never going to be able to finish it if we kept using a spoon.

23 Weeks

Rachel turned 23 weeks on Labor Day. We went to my dad's house for lunch and Tim's parents for dinner. Rachel had a busy day. Looking at the pictures, she is really starting to look a lot older.

Fantasy Football Draft Part 2

I went to my first live fantasy football draft and the Duplan's house yesterday. I didn't get a chance to study, but I brought my study guide with me...Tim! He is not in the league so he helped me with my picks.
This is some of the people in the league and everybody is at their own computers making their picks.

Grant and Rachel hung out together. She is holding his foot. I am surprised she didn't suck on his toe because she loves her own toes.

Grant's dad put a dart on his head...

...and his nose. He looked so silly.

Rachel was tired out after a long draft. She was sleeping all folded up.

So Rachel and Grant took their first bath together. They weren't actually together and couldn't see each other, but were inches apart. They both enjoyed themselves. This is Rachel's first sink bath.

Becky's mom sang to Rachel when she took her out of the bath. What a great Grammacita!

First Fantasy Football Draft

We went to the Duplan house yesterday for my first live fantasy football draft. Rachel and Grant got to hang out together. He is completely oblivious that she is trying to flirt with him. He is blowing spit bubbles while she is holding his foot. She couldn't reach his hand to hold it, so she had to settle for his foot.

CPR Video

So here is one of the videos of Nathan doing CPR on Kyle in the pool from the week before I went back to school. A couple of things that I love about this video:
1. Nathan didn't put his legs through the built in underwear in his bathingsuit so it is sticking out the top.
2. Allisons lack of interest in helping to save her brother as soon as she realizes that his arm moves.
3. Allisons bathingsuit that used to be Jaylins and is waaay to big for her.
4. Nathan does compressions on Kyle's stomach instead of his chest.
5. Nathan does those compressions while Kyle is still in the pool.
I had about 5 different videos but most of them I am laughing through the whole thing. This is the one that I posted because all of the other ones, the camera is shaking because I am laughing too hard.

5 Months

Rachel turned 5 months on Sunday. Time sure is flying by.
A few updates:
1. I am back at work, which means that my posts will be fewer and farther between. Sorry to those of you who check it often. It has been hard going back to work after spending so much time with her. I totally miss her and look at her pictures on my computer a lot.
2. Rachel is rolling over. She can roll back to front and then back again. We haven't got it on video yet.
3. Rachel has lost most of her baby hair and the new hair has come in pretty much the same color. She has a few random long hairs on her head that look pretty funny because most of them are her short new hairs. Her eyes are a greyish color. They are really cool looking. I hope that they stay and don't change to brown like mine.
4. No teeth yet, but I can tell they are coming. She grinds really hard on anything she can get in her mouth.
5. She loves her feet and tries to eat them whenever she gets a chance.
6. She is constantly sticking her tongue out. She went through this phase before and is doing it again.
7. She now shows a lot of interest in the cats. It won't be very long before she is chasing them around. Poor kitties.
8. She is still such a good girl. Her biggest struggle is sleeping through the night right now. Since she was sick for a week and a half, she was having a hard time sleeping. She got in the habit of waking up in the middle of the night. It has been hard to get her to sleep through the night again, but we are working on it.
9. She is still not eating solid food yet. She has only had breast milk to date. We are planning on starting her on rice cereal soon, but have not made the leap yet. 5 Months

It is never too early to enjoy a starbucks!

Tongue baby

She loves her feet!
