Grass

This past week, Rachel played in the grass for the first time. She learned how to crawl in December and it has been raining a bunch since then and so the grass has been too wet to play in. She seemed to really like it.

We were at Becky's house and her backyard has a golf course and Rachel was crawling up there to see what was going on. After this guy took his shot, she clapped for him. He commented and said that it was a good shot.

She only tried to eat the grass once. I was a bit surprised because she puts everything in her mouth still.

I took her outside our place a couple of days later and she had a good time...

...and her pants are proof.
I knew I should have put darker pants on her before I took her outside. Oh well. Lesson learned.

My Valentines

I am so thankful that I had 2 Valentines this year.
Rachel is so proud of herself for climbing on the toilet paper that she is clapping.

She crawls so fast these days that it is hard to get a crawling picture because by the time I get it focused on her, she is on top of me.

Rachel is checking herself out in the mirror. She always thinks that the baby she is looking at is so cute. I would definitely have to agree with her.

She is showing off her two teeth. I check almost every day for more...but she still has just the two.

Tim and I had an extra special Valentines Day this year. In the past, we have always stayed at home and watched romantic movies. This year we went to The Pearl Hotel in Point Loma and stayed the night. His mom watched Rachel for us and we redeemed a gift certificate for the hotel that his brothers got us for Christmas this year. We ate dinner at the restaurant and then met up with his brother and went to a bar near his house in North Park.

Tim's brother Sam is friends with a bunch of people at the bar and we got hookups on drinks and free pizza from the pizzeria next door. It was so good that Tim couldn't even put it down.

Super Bowl

We watched the Super Bowl this year (and every other year) at Tim's parents house. Tim had some friends over and his mom made some very yummy food as always.

Rachel is helping her Nana in the kitchen prior to the game.

Go Saints!

Brianne and Lacey's Birthdays

We celebrated my sister and sister-in-law's January birthdays at my moms house a couple of weeks ago.

Rachel enjoyed sitting at the table with everybody. She really enjoyed playing with the metal measuring spoons that we all played with when we were kids too.

Rachel enjoyed taking all of the pots and pans out of the cupboard and climbing in. She could only climb so far and then she would hit her head on the shelf that was in there. She wasn't quite sure how to get around the shelf.

Posing for the camera and giving the look of "I didn't do it!"

A Visit from Becky and Grant

Becky and Grant came by for a quick visit yesterday. She was in Escondido and we had a little window of time that we could hang out, so we jumped at the opportunity. We haven't seen them in about a month and a half. I was going to be picking Rachel up from Tim's parents and so I invited them over there (thanks again Heather for letting them come over).
The two kiddos stayed very busy and we spent most of the time chasing them down. Well, actually in this picture, Rachel is chasing Grant down for us.

She kept on yelling at him to get his attention. (I wonder where she learned that from?) It looks like her yelling worked!

She was very interested in patting his head. She pats him on the head like she pats the cats. It is really funny.

They liked playing under the table, but Rachel bonks her head a lot. She is a bit too tall and not quite coordinated enough yet.

Grant and Rachel loved playing with the toys.

He was playing the maraca (and banging it really hard on the marble) and she was so excited and just kept on clapping.

Who can resist a face like that? What a little cutie pie. (He sure is good at making faces that make me smile!)
