11 Months

Rachel turned 11 months this weekend. Less than a month and she will be 1 year!!!! AAAAAAAHHHHHH! I can't believe it. So, to celebrate her 11 months, Rachel got over her cold and caught a fever. I was so happy on Friday when her cold was finally gone. Then she woke up on Saturday morning with a fever that was over 102. By Monday, when she still had the fever, I called the doctor and took her in. I took the day off because she really just wanted mommy. Every time I would set her down, hand her to Tim, walk out of the room, etc. she would cry. I decided it wasn't worth it for either of them be put in that position and I hardly ever take time off. The doctor looked in her ears and throat and didn't see anything. They tested her for a urinary tract infection with negative results. Trying to get a stubborn 11 month old to drink so that she will pee is way more difficult than I ever imagined. It must have been a virus because she is getting better.
She would only take a nap if one of us held her. She slept in her own bed at night but not for her naps.

She has started cuddling with her large teddy bear that her Uncle Sam got her for Christmas.

Poor thing was so miserable.

She is so close to walking. As of Friday, she was taking 3-5 steps. During the weekend while she was sick, she couldn't even stand. She was very wobbly because she was so sick, so she hasn't been practicing...but I think she will be walking pretty soon.

Today she has a bit of a rash on her back and belly after the fever. She was getting back to herself today. She is still a bit clingy, tired, and upset, but I think that she is mostly better. Hopefully tomorrow she will be back to her old happy self.

Might be roseola. Joey got it just before he turned 11 months, it's totally harmless. You can check out my blog, scroll down to my May 2, 2007 entry.
In case you're wondering who the heck i am, this is beck's sis-in-law. ;O

Michele, that is totally what my mom thinks it was too. It is weird that her doctor didn't say that was a possibility when I took her in for the fever.
