Rachel's Ghetto Car

One of Rachel's new favorite toys is an upside down stool that I made in woodshop in high school. She sits in it and looks at us and says Vroom Vroom.
She then expects us to come over and push her around the living room in her "car".

Curls

Rachel's hair has been becoming more and more curly in the back recently. She has curly days and not so curly days. The hair on the top is completely straight. Hopefully her hair will grow out of the craziness eventually.

Sunset Park

I met a coworker of mine yesterday at Sunset Park in San Marcos. He had taken his girls here before and told me how cool it was.And he was right. They had a great water area. I wasn't sure how Rachel would feel about it. She started a bit shy, but that didn't last long. She was in the middle of things very quickly.

She hates getting her face wet, but accidentally got it wet a few times. She would run over to me with her eyes practically closed and I would dry her face off. As soon as I did, she would run back and play in the water again.

She also really loves slides. She went down the slide over and over again.

If I didn't take her back up quickly enough, she would try to climb up her herself...but not very successfully.

They have a see-saw.

They have swings. They even have an indoor soccer arena (which is in the background of this picture).

My friend Aaron, his wife Liza, and daughters Sara and Samantha.

The Mall

The last few times Tim's mom and I have taken Rachel to the mall we took her to the little play area by Sears. She has a great time. She wants to play with the other little kids. The first time we went there, she made friends with another little girl who was about 18 months old and kept giving Rachel kisses on the mouth.
She loves the cars and sits in them and says Vrrrrrm Vrrrrrm the whole time. Even right now, she is leaning over my shoulder, looking at the picture, and saying Vrrrrrm Vrrrrrm as I type this.

This last time I took her in the ones that you put quarters in and they move around and she loved them as well. She had such a great time.

Baby Spike is 1

Grant turned 1 a few weeks ago. Rachel and I went over to their house on Thursday to see Becky and Grant.
He is peeking in the bag to see what he got.

"Oooooh!"

Grant's daddy, Beau, built him a playhouse out of a box and they absolutely loved it. Becky and I were in the kitchen and could hear them giggling. We went to see what they were so happy about and they were having a ball playing in the playhouse.

"Excuse me, but we would like some privacy here. I am just going to close this door."

They played so well together...until it was about an hour after both of their nap times and my darling daughter decided to bite Grant on the finger. Sorry Grant, hope it didn't leave any permanent damage. Seeing how they played together on Thursday, I think they are going to be the best of friends, as long as we can keep the biting to a minimum.

15 Months

Rachel turned 15 months old today. She woke up from her nap in such a good mood.

She sure does love her grilled cheese.

Right after her lunch, she got in the bath and was still in such a good mood. Her hair has gone a bit crazy recently. This isn't necessarily a good picture of the wings, but it shows you a bit of what her hair is doing these days.

Wow, she just looks so old in this picture. It makes me realize she isn't a baby anymore!

Zoo

Tim and I took Rachel, Jaylin, and Kyle to the Zoo yesterday. It was really nice to hang out with the two older kids since we don't see them too much these days. It was a good excuse for me to be able to drag Tim to the Zoo. He doesn't usually come with me, but the kids gave him an excuse to come. The Peacock was really showing off his feathers. He was hanging out in the giraffe exhibit and showing off.

Jaylin and Kyle going to see the new elephant exhibit for the first time.

Rachel really enjoyed her chocolate chip cookie...but not as much as Tim. I set it down for a minute and it disappeared!

The 3 kiddos next to the elephant.

We went and saw the sea lion show. Rachel was dancing to the music and really enjoyed herself.

We went to the petting zoo and Rachel would go up to the goats and laugh and turn around and run back to me. She was excited about them, but a bit nervous.

She preferred to climb on the logs than pet the goats.
